Terms of Reference

Participation

The 6-8 members of the Parent Voices Steering Committee will include:

• Representatives from the CCAAC Board and Council including the: Chairperson and Treasurer of the Board of Directors and the Chairperson of the Council of Child Care Advocates.
• Individuals who represent provinces/territories with parent groups actively participating in the project.

The Chairperson of the Committee will report to the Board and Council, act as a spokesperson for the Committee, and liaise with the Parent Network.

The Project Manager and Project Consultant will work with this committee and liaise with the Steering Committee Chairperson.

Meetings

The Steering Committee will meet three times during the two year project as budgeted for in the Contribution Agreement (December /01 to December /03) and conference calls will be held as needed.

Responsibilities of the Steering Committee

The Parent Voices Steering Committee will guide and support the work of Parent Voices by:

• facilitating linkages between the project and respective regional groups
• facilitating information sharing regarding regional advocacy efforts
• reviewing the work plan approved by the funder, and providing input into the annual plan and mid fiscal year review
• reviewing the progress and challenges to date and providing input to the development of the Parent Voices network
• providing input and advice regarding resources and other tools collected and developed for parents
• providing input to the evaluation plan including the final evaluation
